“What struck me most… is the ability of Mr. Sorbo to print that strength of heart…”

Montserrat writes so beautifully here that although translated (gracias, Teresa) her words express a joy and sorrow we all feel; I cried and so might you. I believe she is planning to attend the Basauri Convention in Spain next year. We hope that she will finally meet and spend time with Kevin.

On Mr. Kevin Sorbo’s blog and on the chat my name is Serratmons. On Facebook it’s Serratmediterraneo.

I was born in 1951 in Barcelona, a beautiful city in Spain. When I was 17 Hercules took my heart for the first time, book-shaped.

Atlantis’ poem speaks of a young castaway who comes to a beach where an old hermit nurtures and takes care of him. When the young castaway recovers, he tells the hermit about his crazy dreams. Dreaming of a continent beyond the known confines, he calls himself the young Christopher Columbus. The hermit then begins the narration of the destruction of the mythical continent of Atlantis. Note that the Supreme Power of the Universe used the demigod Hercules to execute justice, to protect and replant the seed and the matrix of the Atlantean race. The land that emerges from the ruins of Atlantis is the Iberian Peninsula. Hercules rearranges the new life after the disaster emerged, creating new cities where order reigns, justice and beauty. In Cadiz, Coruna, Barcelona, Sagunto rise temples dedicated to Hercules.

He ends the poem and encourages the young Columbus to search for his dream. Certainly, the reprint of the poem in 1968 was very successful. The whole poem is a hymn to life, love and justice: a claim whatsoever to the relationship between human beings and their inner strength uppermost.

I was growing up and Hercules and the author of the poem filled my youth with high hopes and dreams of love, homeland, justice and beauty. Also, of bitter realities since Jacinto Verdaguer channeled all that ardor of your heart to the highest mystical feeling. He was a Catholic priest, but, his way of living Christianity and passion for life led him to profound suffering.

My youth has passed by, the political changes in my country and around the world forced us to speed things up. These past 150 years to human groups have been of great achievements, but, also of great acceleration. In a society that moves too fast and no time to look back, the old heroes have been forgotten…

Hercules, Jacinto Verdaguer and my youth went to Olympus.

A bit wild in youth, at age 27 the disease crossed my path and I won a part of the battle; it has left me sitting in a wheelchair, but, we managed to succeed thanks to the beauty of the process (of) life.

Today, I am a tired woman, but, quiet and wiser. It’s ended my time to build. Now, it’s time to breathe and appreciate the free gifts given us by the day, to see the beauty of each moment.

Last fall for me it was difficult, no air to breathe and no beauty to see…

One evening I put the T.V. on… And there was Hercules, different, very different from what I dreamed of in my 17 years… Strong, with all the strength that may have a heart that loves life: fighting, as always for his beloved human groups, dynamic, happy and sad, very sad, with a heavy weight on his shoulders. But, enjoying the gift of friendship, being friend to Iolaus…

Today, I would not be able to figure out Hercules without his brother Iolaus, fine and dynamic actor.

Hercules has opened today, in my way, a door to a new dimension, new hope for a new challenge… You can, yes, you can, get where you believe you can… If you don’t feel you can, I’ll be there waiting… I’m working on my dear, sad heart Hero…

What struck me most on the series is the ability of Mr. Sorbo to print that strength of heart… How does he do it?

I understand that for Mr. Sorbo Hercules is part of his past; it’s also for me, and… now (on T.V.) it comes again magnificently represented by a great actor.

I would love to meet Kevin, since this time and space has gotten together to meet someone who has so perfectly relived the legendary hero. I would, in the time that the process of life permits me, shake his hand in order to differentiate the Mr. Sorbo from the hero who is all heart.

I would also ask him a few questions: When the series ended, I think the seventh season, how did it end? Where’s Hercules? Solo, with a new family? Oh, at any time the hero can return to start helping today’s society?

Thank you all for your welcome and attention. Regards.
