Happy Belated Birthday, Kevin Sorbo! One more…
Aliykat (Alison) in Canada made her first vid for Kevin’s birthday, and wrote about how and why she did. Wow! Way to go, Ali!
For years I have followed the career of Kevin Sorbo. I first chanced upon the actor when he starred in the TV show, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. The flowing, long, sun-kissed brown hair and beautiful cerulean blue eyes with all those muscles and bare hairy chest on the body that seems to go on forever drew my attention. The more I watched him, the deeper I sank. I followed the actor on to Andromeda, where the hair was cut off (I cried for the loss) and the muscles slimmed down, but here remained this tall drink of water with those eyes I couldn’t stop watching.
A year ago my husband convinced me to join up with Twitter and Facebook in order to find out more about the actor. Since then I have made amazing Sorbo Sister friends and have even been followed back by the man himself on Twitter, which stunned the heck out of me.
I have come to realize by following Kevin that he is more than just an actor: He is a humanitarian, a husband, a father, a spokesperson, a jokester, a humongous flirt and an all around man’s man and good guy. He is one of the hardest workers I have ever heard of with movies and guest appearances everywhere that you want to look and in every genre.
I want to share my opinion that it is not just Kevin Sorbo’s eye color that draws us into them. Not saying that I don’t love the color of them, but, what I am saying is that the expression in Kevin’s eyes is what makes them special. When he looks off into the distance, I want to know what he is looking at. When his eyes crinkle with laughter, I want to laugh with him. When the tears well up in his eyes, I can’t help but cry with him. Kevin’s eyes take me on a journey with him, and it is a journey I wish to travel.
Once again, Kevin’s birthday has come around. However, this year I have learned a few tricks. Last year, I sent out my birthday wish with the rest of the fans on Twitter because it was all I could do. Since then, I have been learning Photoshop and have started with a few Kevin collages that I have passed around on his anniversary, Christmas, and such.
But, for his birthday I have decided to go a wee bit further with a little help from a friend named GinaNyxx who had started to do videos in the last year and agreed to put the collages together in a video. I made all the collages myself (42 of them) in Photoshop, but when it came time to complete the video, I was so invested in it, I asked GinaNyxx to teach me how to put it together myself instead.
Being the sweetheart that she is, she, of course, agreed. To my amazement the video-making is a lot easier and less time-consuming than making one collage. Thanks once again to my bosom buddy GinaNyxx for making the learning easy.
I did enhance the eye color to draw the attention to Kevin’s eyes and because of the distance of the shots. I have never met Kevin, so I cannot guarantee that they are the correct color, and because with lighting and background colors, it is never a guarantee to get the shade of color accurate.
Again, the point of the video is to draw attention to Kevin’s expressions through his eyes because I believe this is what makes him a great actor. I have and will continue to feel through Kevin’s eyes.
Have a great Birthday, Big Guy.
