Make 2012 The Year of the Sorbs with Kevin Sorbo

Happy New Year, everyone, and welcome to 2012!

According to some nonsense surrounding the ancient Mayan calendar, December 21, 2012, is supposedly “Doomsday,” or the day the earth will end due to numerous cataclysmic astronomical events. Sure…

The Chinese Zodiac maintains that 2012 is the Year of the Dragon, which is quite a bit more optimistic since culturally dragons symbolize strength, power and good luck. (Similarly, the Celts viewed dragons as symbols of power and strength, naming their tribal chiefs Pendragon or “head dragon.”)

So, as a symbol of True Strength and Power I hereby designate 2012 as

The Year of the Sorbs

Kevin, whose nickname was Sorbs during his youth, has many great things happening this year and is so inspirational, strong and charitable by nature that I think we can all agree he deserves comparison to the preeminent dragon (and because he often wears that cool dragon hoodie that I love so much! Kevin, remember me when you’re tired of it. Would love to add it to my hoodie collection… Heck, I would even frame it!).

His book, True Strength: My Journey from Hercules to Mere Mortal-and How Nearly Dying Saved My Life, continues to receive rave reviews. His new Official Kevin Sorbo YouTube channel offers lots of great vids of Kevin discussing what’s happening in his life and other fun stuff. He remains as busy as ever, filming some awesome movies and hopefully a new TV series; travelling around the globe for book signings, speaking engagements, charity events (especially golf tournaments) and conventions; and encouraging people to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle via his ViSalus Body by Vi 90-Day Challenge.

Holy cow! Is there no limit to this guy’s dragonesque abilities??

January 19 through 29 – Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah
January 25 – Keynote speaker at the American Heart Association’s annual event on stroke awareness in Palm Beach, Florida
