Kevin Sorbo shoots hole-in-one at Oscar De La Hoya’s Golf Tournament
Celebrity golfer and self-professed golf addict Kevin Sorbo is totally tearing up the greens these days as he smashes his way through one celebrity tournament after another.
This week he showed no mercy at the 12th Annual Oscar De La Hoya Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic on Monday, August 20, in Burbank, CA, by snagging a hole-in-one on the sixth tee at the scenic Lakeside Golf Club. He won 10 grand to benefit his Los Angeles-based foundation, A World Fit For Kids!, for his excellent shot and also earned bragging rights.
Here’s his eloquent description of the historic moment that he posted on his Kevin Sorbo Official Facebook Page:
āI got a hole in one on Lakeside number 6, 174 yards with a 7 iron! High, slight fade just missing the tree guarding the left half of the green, landing softly 6 feet left of the flag, taking a small bounce and rolling into left side of the cup! Thank you very much!!ā
Geez, I feel like I was there! Congratulations!!!!!
Hmm, Kevin, could there be another book in you, this time about golf?!

Great story! Congrats on the hole-in-one,Kevin!
As a fellow duffer (who yearns to be back on the links soon), I was happy to hear of Kevin’s latest ace. I was reminded of his story in “True Strength,” about playing the 2001 AT&T Pro-Am in Pebble Beach. Knowing how far he’s come from the strokes & aneurysm in 1997 makes all these latest triumphs more remarkable. As David Feherty said, “This bloody Hercules is playing out of his bloody gourd!”
Bravo, Kevin! I hope you kept the ball and scorecard. š
Congratulations Kevin š
Thanks Jan
